6 Natural Energy Boosters For A More Productive Day

and very responsive to being nourished within that time frame and when we nourish it with something, within that first 30 minutes time frame, it (like cold water first thing in the morning), not only revs our metabolism but gives us energy to tackle the day (and eat less).

So remember: First 30 minutes. First foods. Pick your poison or productivity pal. Choice is yours.

sunlightLOOK TO THE LIGHT

I know it sounds like a corny fifth grade science lesson but the sun is an energy life force by which the earth rotates (around). The sun is responsible for providing us heat and energy and for giving life to us all. When you break your fast, open your blinds and let the sun light in and while at work, let the sun light in if you can. We all own a piece of the sun and can walk on sunshine if we welcome it. It works wonders for our energy and emotional well beings.

AVOID BEING TOO IDLE FOR TOO LONGRise-up

Obviously we all can’t have a ball chair pulled up to our desk or a treadmill desk at our workspace but while sitting at our workspace, there are under desk exercise apparatus to keep circulation going while sitting and doing our daily tasks. Studies have proven that sitting too long however, is bad for the heart and recommend that we get up once every hour for at least 3-5 minutes and walk around to get circulation going throughout our bodies (which too, as previously stated, give us energy). If you work in a place where you cannot get up and walk around for 3-5 minutes an hour, standing for at least 5 minutes is another alternative. After sitting for an hour (or hours), once you stand, our bodies readies itself for movement of some kind and prepares itself for more than what you didn’t do for the hour or hours you sat idle-giving it no energy (therefore giving you no energy).

MOVE AWAY AND MEDITATE

Move, stop and meditate. According to a January 2015 Harvard research neuroimaging study at Massachusetts General Hospital (like I mentioned back on #1-the exercise tip), the study did one of those “look inside the brain/body studies”) and saw that when we meditate it improves learning and memory and increases the gray matter in our brain’s hippocampus aids
