BOBBY BROWN Steps Out For First Time Since BOBBI KRISTINA’s Tragedy: Performs at L.A’s SOUL FOOD FESTIVAL

R&B King Bobby Brown made his first public appearance being open to the public from behind his personal statements and representatives this past Saturday night while performing at the previously scheduled Soul Food Festival in Los Angeles.

If you remember about a month or so ago, it was being reported that Bobby had previously scheduled tour dates to make good on and obviously (due to his baby girl Bobbi Kristina’s tragedy that-he is still dealing with) he didn’t step out right away but the fact of the matter is: eventually-he did.2767F98F00000578-3032381-Distraught_father_Bobby_Brown_is_being_forced_to_play_gigs_for_t-m-28_1428598048788

It’s odd and (to some) a seemingly heartless and selfish thing being a public figure-whether you are a singer, radio DJ, television anchor/reporter (or even a blogger) or any public occupation by which once you start, no matter what personal tragedies you are experiencing in your personal life, it is to that job that you do in front of the public by which you will always be much obliged (no matter what). No one cares about what’ personally going on with you privately when you’re publicly theirs for a moment or few hours.

A radio DJ cannot go on air to do his 4-hour radio show (even just having had a death in the family) and not have that smile in his voice. He just can’t do it.

Once that “On Air” red light comes on, for four hours, he has to press pause on his emotions and the show must go on.

Press Play.

That very thing [and such is the case] with Bobbi Kristina’s dad: For R&B singer Bobby Brown, the show must go on. Everybody in that crowd bought tickets awhile ago and was eagerly awaiting the King of the Stage R&B star to do what he does best: take it-sing and perform like nothing less than the Bobby Brown we’ve come to know and love and as if all is really well (despite the fact that we all know differently and that despite being moved to a rehabilitation facility in an undisclosed location, his daughter is still on life support).

In an emotional moment (where you can hear he almost broke down-but held his composure really well) Brown took a moment to thank everyone for their show of support for he and his family:

“I must tell you all, this feels…this feels…really, really, really good. Thank you all for coming out tonight for supporting me and my family. Rough times are rough times. Hard times are hard times. I don’t know what the hell I’m going through right now, but I’m giving it to God, and letting him deal with it.”

He continued:

“There’s only one thing I ask of y’all tonight and that’s to enjoy yourselves,”

…he permitted.

Enjoying themselves is something the crowd certainly did and as did Bobby who, we all can say-needed this outlet for a moment (all things considered) as-the stage is where it all started and where the good times through the tragedies were birthed, still.

So when asked if he still would have performed even if not contractually obligated, like the professional and superstar Bobby Brown always was and still is, he replied:

“Never. I don’t back out of a performance,” said the King of the Stage singer.

Now obviously I have quite a few songs by Bobby that I absolutely love and adore, and I’d love to post them here, but check me out on one of my old Twitter accounts:

…I promise you my posting them would not come without a little bit of objectification and at this moment in time (all things considered) I don’t think that would be appropriate.

So, with that said, I will list just a few of my faves, and you can search and objectify Bobcat by your own maverick:
