WILL on “Uncle Phil” : “Some of My Greatest Lessons in Acting, Living and Being a Respectable Human Being Came Through JAMES AVERY” Says WILL SMITH

The start of the New Year may have brought on new dreams and new ways to live life for many of us, but too, for those us who remembered one of television’s most memorable patriarchs: James Avery (“Uncle Phil”) of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air; news of his sudden death caught us all by surprise.

I won’t belabor the obvious that lingered in inquiring minds: (as explained in my blog about Avery’s passing)…Although we heard from Tatyana Ali (“Ashley”), Alfonso Ribeiro (“Carlton”) even Jada Pinkett-Smith (the wife of Will Smith-one of the main character’s of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air); we were left with nothing but to assume Jada’s condolences as expressed on Facebook were on behalf of the Smith’s (plural)-Mrs. and Mr. (Will) Smith.

Some of my greatest lessons in Acting, Living and being a respectable human being came through James Avery. Every young man needs an Uncle
Phil. Rest in Peace

I’ve always wondered if those “distinguished,” believable patriarchs (and matriarchs) on television shows took their tv- kids under the wings (off-camera) and gave them life lessons.

Thanks for sharing Will.
