#WhichHillary ? The ‘2016’ Vs. The ’96 Hillary Clinton (Per Her Explanation For Her Choice of Words): “We Have To Bring Them To Heel”

Ghosts of Clinton’s past have come to roost.Hillary

“…Not just gangs of kids anymore. They are often…the kinds of kids that are called super-predators: no conscience, no empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way but first we have to bring them to heel.”

That verbiage has presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton’s under a great ball of fire this week given her choice of words used during a 1996 Keene State College campaign stop in Keene, New Hampshire-where she used rhetoric like:

  • “super predators,” and “we have to bring them to heel” (when describing):
  • them = “they”
  • “gangs of [the kinds of] kids” =  ?
  • “bring them to heel” = heal or heel?
    • Heel: (to close behind into agreement or line/to control or subject)

…or whether or not she meant the other

    • Heal: (to make sound/healthy/whole again).

Whether or not she meant (the adjective) “heel” or not, her past is kicking up dust right about now.

While on the 2016 campaign trail, she came face to face with a youth activist Ashley Williams-#BlackLivesMatter protestor who gladly contributed to the $500, 100-person event this past Wednesday night at a private of at which Clinton spoke.

Williams stepped up and speak seek her peace and get a resolution and some clarity:

As I explained, when she said: “super predators,” and “we have to bring them to heel”(when describing):

      • them = (they who?)

and

      • “gangs of [the kinds of] kids” =  ? (who/what “gang” or “sect” or group of people?)

and

      • “bring them to heel” = (which one? heal or heel?):

Heel: (to close behind into agreement or line/to control or subject)

…or whether or not she meant the other

Heal: (to make sound/healthy/whole again)

…THAT’S where semantics come into play here.

Ashley Williams Hillary ClintonAlthough the woman was thrown out by secret service, with sign in hand (as record of Hillary’s word) Williams did get to question Clinton about what she meant by “we have to bring them to heel.”Ashley Williams Hillary Clinton3

Clinton got a look at the sign in the woman’s hand and the woman asked Hillary (who, at the event before stepping out to speak, the shooting of Walter Scott, the Charleston A.M.E Shooting was discussed) to confront her own words.

Williams told Huffington Post:

“I wanted to bring her to confront her own words. We did this because we wanted to make sure that black people are paying attention to her record, and we want to know what Hillary we are getting.”

Just before the event Williams said:
