Just ask Twitter activist DeRay McKesson who took the brave step of announcing his candidacy for the Baltimore mayoral run [democratic ticket].
Although the Black Lives Matter frontliner’s entry is said to be relatively late among an already populated race of about a dozen candidates, the 30 year-old social media Black Lives Matter matador will run with the bulls regardless.
On Wednesday, the Baltimore native announced his plans to step into mainstream politics on behalf of the highly criticized social media group and despite not having gone and gotten in the traditional route. McKesson says he is on a mission to challenge traditional governing as is-in the city of Baltimore stating: “We cannot rely on traditional pathways to politics and the traditional politicians who walk that path,” he wrote. “We have to challenge the practices that have not and will not lead to transformation.”
