The BET Awards this year was a mixture of a bittersweet feat in three ways.
Although the popular award show didn’t beat its viewership ratings last for years show (which was somewhere around eight million) it did commandeer 6.3 million viewers which still, reportedly, is over the amount of viewers for any (local, syndicated/cable) show thus far.
In considering the antics (like this one where Rihanna was in full rambunctious character-dominating the scene with the thought in mind as the title of her latest song “B/itch Better Have My Money” where she meticulously behaved like one as a part of the shows staged antic in conjunction with the pop star promoting the trailer for the soon to be released visual for the song.

As well (in considering the shenanigans and performances), the fact that it really is an award show, often times the most jaw-dropping moments of the show can too, overpower even the performances! This year saw everything from an awesome speech in the form of a lesson given by soul music O-G Smokey Robinson to the return of pop legend Janet Jackson.

…The Bad Boy Reunion’s 6.3 million viewers + screams from the audience told rap mogul Diddy we sure as hell would [like a tour].
Shortly after music’s biggest night, it was announced that the entire Bad Boy roster will indeed be going out on tour and coming to a city near you!
