MISTY Hardly Anything But Blue – MISTY COPELAND ‘On The Town’: Opens 1st Broadway Show 8.25.15 – 9.6.15 + Engaged To Be Married To Longtime Beau (All Praises Due To Actor TAYE DIGGS?!)

I know the word ‘blue” tends to come to mind when the name ‘Misty’ or a ‘misty condition’ is mentioned however, Misty Copeland is anything but.

A lot has happened since the social media hailstorm joined in celebrating the America Ballet Theatre’s welcoming of its first black principal ballerina [Misty Copeland].

In addition to having become engaged to be married to her lawyer beau (Olu Evans) of 11 years (by whom actor Taye Diggs is credited for playing matchmaker)

…while keeping her duties on point in her new position there, Misty took a moment to broaden her horizons over on Broadway-prepping for her very first Broadway gig where Misty will be doing [more than what’s expected of + what’s she’s known for-dancing]: Misty will be singing and acting in the Broadway musical called On The Town!

On The Town opens tomorrow (August 25, 2015) and stepping in as “Ivy Smith,” (and along with singing and acting) Copeland will (of course) be performing ballet sequence “Miss Turnstiles.”

When and How Long: The musical is slated to run through September 6

Where: Broadways’ Lyric Theatre at 213 W 42nd Street New York, New York, 10036
