Giving You The Tea: OPRAH Makes Deal With STARBUCKS

download (46)  Talk about giving you the “tea.”

In gossip and entertainment, “tea” has several meanings:

“Giving you the tea” =giving you gossip.

And in the world of Other Side of the Fame, we call it giving you the G’s (gossip).

As a writer-publisher in my early novice days, I felt real fancy when I landed my first publicist even before a book deal-and even more fancy when I learned the lingo of acceptance or agreeing to work with you typically began with the words: “Let’s have tea.”

Oprah’s gon’ get up in your spirit one way or another.

And on Wednesday at the shareholders meeting in Seattle, it was announced that beginning April 29 in all U.S and Canada stores, a new drink will be placed upon Starbucks’ and Teavana’s menus named after then media mogul, affectionately called: “Oprah Chai Tea.”

download (44) When the talk-show spirit goddess left her nationally syndicated talk show to begin her own OWN Network, per our observation…she quickly discovered the full scope of her M-O wasn’t going to quite cut the mustard for 24 hours, 7 days per week 365 days per year [and that no television network can survive talking all things “spiritual” when all things ratchet are running amuck]; she quickly learned that she was going to have to get with the program to survive that network, and well-it worked.

Along with that, she’s gonna find a way to get some spirit to that mind, body, and soul of yours over and above the hours she has to show other television programming outside the scope of her original vision—and from the looks of things come April 29, she will be accomplishing just that.

Chai tea is a spicy, pungent drink made from some of the worlds most medicinally active herbs whose basic components include black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, ginger, and even black pepper. Although each ingredient has its own health benefits, their potent synergy is said to support digestion, prevent cancer, promote cardiovascular health, lower blood sugar and too, have anti-inflammatory effects, be full of anti-oxidants, and digestive-boosting effects.

For each cup of Oprah Chai Tea sold, Starbucks will make a donation to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy.

Have your tea and drink it too.
