Andre on LettermanAndre Benjamin a.k.a Andre 3000 stopped by David Letterman to grace the late night audience with his presence while he talked about capturing the essence of the late rockstar Jimi Hendrix in a biopic in which he stars as the musician.

As well, he shared some of his knowledge about what he felt made up the total Hendrix persona which included (the band): “The Who,” also Eric Clapton and: Women.

Listen and watch that anthropology as he discusses the movements of Hendrix-so carefree and smooth, even while having just learned and covered a song by the famed Beatles.download (1)

As he stated, although Andre didn’t know much of anything about Hendrix until around his teen years, and has gone on record admitting that his intense study of Hendrix came with being gifted the role for the movie (directed by 12 Years A Slave director John Ridley), just like Hendrix [who naturally molded himself to what he’d just learned and covered], such is life–in that Benjamin, who again, himself, didn’t know much about the musician, yet manages to capture the essence of Hendrix’s body language, style, walk, talk and way: perfectly—down to the string of the guitar.

As well, having reunited with the other half of his funk-rap partner in music Big Boi (Outkast), Andre is currently on tour and stopped by The Ellen Degeneres show to talk about that, briefly:
