BEYONCE’s Lemonade Scores Emmy Nod + The 2016 Emmy Nom List and Ceremony (Vid)

The world will never forget Beyonce’s Lemonade HBO special that had social media on lockdown while trying to connect the dots as to whether she was sending hubby S dot Carter a creative message of strife and serenaded swan song.

The poignantly powerful one hour digit-short embodied all the elements of a musical, short film, and music videos all in one as the Get The Bodied powerhouse singer did just that.

Low and behold, Emmy noms were announced today and Beyonce and her Lemonade made the list! Shared with her co director Kahlil Joseph, the HBO special is nom’d for four nods:

  • Outstanding Production Design For A Variety
  • Nonfiction, Event Or Award Special
  • Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming
  • Outstanding Variety Special

Standing toe to toe with Beyonce is:

  • Chris Rock who directed Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo
  • Louis J. Horvitz for The 58th Annual Grammy Awards
  • Glenn Weiss for The Kennedy Center Honors
  • Beth McCarthy for Adele: Live in New York City
  • Thomas Kail and Alex Rudzinski for Grease Live

Anthony Anderson Lauren Graham and CEO Bruce Rosenblaum announce 68th Emmys Noms
Although Beyonce was nom’d for her 2015 Super Bowl halftime performance and her ON The Run tour documentary with Jay Z, critics are saying this could be her year to that Emmy (to shelve with her 20 Grammys).

Live from Wolf Theatre at Saban Media Center, the Emmy nom ceremony was announced this morning by “Blackish” actor Anthony Anderson along with Lauren (Parenthood and Gilmore Girls)

Let’s not belabor the obvious suspects:

  • FX’s The People v. O.J Simpson: An American Crime Story got 22 nods
  • Season 2 of FX’s Fargo got 18
