I think I’m gonna like this one because my hustle for a long time was doing nails, and alongside doing nails (and pedi’s) at my home, my biggest hustle was wheel service—in the privacy of yours 7 days a week: appointments and impromptu-I could get to you. My schedule, my clientele and my pockets were all full!
My hustle had nothing on Tiny and Shekinah’s though and come Monday, October 13 9:30/8:30c you’ll soon see. You see, straight off the heels of VH1’s Family Hustle, the girls have a new reality show called Tiny and Shekinah’s Weave Trip. And just like it sounds, the girls got beauty on wheels.
The show will follow Tiny and Shekinah while on their mobile salon, picking up clientele along the way while Shekinah does what she does best: get ‘em beautiful-sewing and tightening those weaves, sending out poppin’ while the two rock and roll.
For the record, Tiny was originally asked to sign on to Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta after season one but she declined stating: “I mean, you know, they’re a huge franchise,” But for me, I’m already executive producer for every show that I’m doing. It wouldn’t make sense for me to go on someone else’s show and not be the boss. If I’m going on your show and I have to take orders and I don’t have no say so on how I’m going to look at the end of the day, I’m not going to do that. Besides, from ‘Tiny & Toya’ to ‘Family Hustle’ I’ve had my input. It’s never ‘just do this’ or ‘it doesn’t matter what you think.’ I can’t put myself in that.”
Well I’ll stitch to that!
All wasn’t lost, because Tiny the offer over to another friend: former Escape band member Kandi Burruss. She revealed “I actually turned them on to Kandi. They called me about it and I was like, ‘Mmmm…no, but you should look into Kandi.’”
Sweeeeeeeeeet. And as we all know, the rest is history.
